Biography of Karabo Ramathe

Personal Life

Karabo Ramathe was born on June 26, 1999, at Medi-Clinic Vereeniging in the Vaal Triangle. She grew up in a close-knit community in Steelpark, living with both her parents. At the age of 14, Karabo discovered her passion for modelling and joined Figures Models. After graduating from Figures Models, she decided to expand her horizons and participated in the Miss Face of Vaal pageant. In 2016, Karabo was crowned Miss Community of Vaal, and in 2018, she became a finalist in the Miss Face of Vaal competition.

Education

Karabo attended five different schools from nursery through to her tertiary education, ultimately completing her studies at Sedibeng College. She is currently furthering her education at Boston College, where she is studying Public Relations.

Profession

Karabo Ramathe is the founder of Kaylisha M African, an organization dedicated to educating and promoting awareness about African culture to tourists, travellers, and local communities. Karabo decided to start her own company. She envisioned it as a beacon of cultural pride, a platform that would celebrate and raise awareness about the richness of her heritage. It wasn't just a business; it was a mission to educate and inspire others to value and respect their own cultures.

Her dedication did not go unnoticed. Karabo became an active member of Gauteng Women in Tourism, a network of influential women committed to promoting tourism in their region. Her insights and leadership skills soon earned her the position of Director of Tourism at E tlang ko Vaal, where she had the opportunity to make a real impact on the tourism landscape.

Achievements

Karabo has served as a youth ambassador for the South African Friends of Israel and has participated in the Gauteng Women in Tourism initiative. She is also a motivational speaker among her peers and actively participates in a drug prevention program aimed at changing lives. Karabo is passionate about collaborating with the youth and was honoured as the 2023 Influential Woman of the Year.
