I am Kung Chin Chin. I am from a small agricultural town, Sarikei, Sarawak. Being the eldest for my siblings, I have to be a strong leader and yet caring sister.

I started to follow my neighbour to kindergarten when I was 3 years old as no one taking care of me as both my parents were working hard harvesting income to supply to our family.

At the age of 4, I have to take care of my younger sister and simple household after school every day. My mother said I am a natural born leader and she can put her trust in me of doing it.

My parent wanted me to learn to hold the responsibility of taking good care of the house and siblings while they tried to support our family. They had embedded this seed in me and I cannot value it at all when I was young.

I did go against it many times as why should I held this kind of responsibility while my neighbours were already playing at the field after school and I cannot. I have endless of house chores to do. At the age of 6, I started to help at my father’s construction office. I started to be a bit happier there and the learning was very fun especially when I had pretended to be little boss at the office instead of doing house chores and stay at home everyday.

Things started getting to be very challenging when I was also asked to learn to do filing with my mother and the Admin Aunty. I was forced to recognise all the numbering and the wordings. So hard for me to catch up at that time.

I also not sure how I managed it at that time. Just follow the instruction and carry on is my mindset that time. Things got harder and harder when I started to follow my mother to go out of office to do collection of all the outstanding payments. Only then, I realised there is so many kind of people in this world.

I realised how "wisdom" affected a person mindset and react. I started to becoming more and more understand my parent's teaching. To ease my mother's job, I had to help my mother to keep all the invoices and files accordingly.

I admitted I had made a lot mistakes over the years. My parent taught me to learn up all the spelling wording of numbers and passed all the collected cheques for me to check through and record it into the Journal book. What a huge responsibility I held at that time?

As time passed by I am very proud that I always aware of what is happening surrounded me compare to my classmates and relatives. I can blended into any levels in any environments and situation.

My adapting skills is above reasonable. That has led me to excel to my studies and my working life after I had graduated and back from England. I did not faced any issue when I was studying abroad myself.

And I had no issue of finding Job at Kuala Lumpur myself when I wanted to step into my first teaching career in west Malaysia. I am very fortunate that I was mould since young to be able to survive in any situation and clearly knowing my steps without fear.

I really had a real time experiences and real life training from early age and that well equiped me with the necessary life skills that a lot people wanted to instill it today. I am a multi tasker, strong adaptability and I have a high level of problem solving skills at most of the time.

I obtained my PhD in Child's Development Studies on 10th June 2018. It took me more than 4 years to acquire it successfully. My research was emphazised of the Child’s Development milestones especially from the age of 1 - 5 years old.

I was very fortunate that I had a ready groups of children for me to do my feasibility study at my own Taska and Tadika. Further more, I was assisted by Madam Christine from Sri Sempurna, Sri Petaling and Magdelene Dukes from Qdees Subang Jaya for allowing me to do research on her students back year 2004 - 2008.

I was then craved for more challenges and I was distracted with the International School Approaches. I was amazed with the teaching methodology of Finland and wanted to go more in depth but I soon realised I cannot fully adopting it in Malaysia at that moment as the market is still too new to be explored.

A lot resources needed to be acquired before the approach can be put into action plan. At the same time I was also preoccupied with the Multiple Intelligence approach that I had equiped when I was still working with Ednovation Sdn Bhd. I was the Business Development Manager cum Product Specialist Trainer.

I was well trained in Singapore Head Quarter and managed to implement the project at several Singapore government preschools before actual execution takes place in Malaysia.

I visited Preschools in Indonesia when I joined Persatuan Taska Negeri Selangor in Year 2003. And I also went to Taiwan to visit Preschools and Childcare centres. I obtained a lot of extra ideas to run the centres.

I joined Persatuan Guru-Guru Willayah Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. I am also the member of PBBB and Persatuan Tadika Malaysia since 1999. I worked closely with a lot non profit organisations in order to my expand my company's sales. I learned a lot skills at that period of time. Mainly, multitasking, flexible and problem solving skills.

Earlier age, I was graduated with Master in Science in Decision Science from University of Herfordshire, UK in 1996. And I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1994 at University of Hertfordshire.

I successfully graduated as Advance Diploma in Business Management at Sunway college (formerly) in 1992. Besides the degrees, I had a few higher Diploma in Early Childhood and Child Physcology from Segi College, Summit (formerly). As one the requirements for Tadika and Taska's operator, I completed KAAK, KSPK and Montessori Certificates in year 2000 -2003 and SKM in 2023.

I am now operating 3 centres at Tropicana and Damansara Area. I am acting as the Managing Director with the help of my 2 assistants. Every center has an acting Principal and the teachers to take care of the daily operation.

I hold the control of the management areas and assist all this centers to run the centers smoothly daily. I conducted training for my existing teachers and all the new teachers who are going to join us will be guided by myself then only followed up by my assistants.

As the leader of my work places, I am responsible for the advancement of the center. I need to source more information and resources for my centers. I am now wanted to digitalise our office management in a month time.

There are more plans for my center to move ourselves to another era of learning and teaching. Besides, I need to non stop upgrading myself as their mentor and giving them all the support whenever needed.

I started off with Taska which is located at Tropicana since 1999 till today. Initially, the intention was also to have a trial run center for Multiple Intelligence Programme and more center that adopting Ednoland, the Computer Aided Programme. This center was setup with the help of 2 ex business partner who qualified with Montessori qualification and Approach.

They helped to run the center and I was only holding the marketing and management shares. As our business grew, one of my business partner had decided to migrate to Australia and another one decided to retire after I stablised the new center. I setup Tadika because there is a need to maintain my existing children to the next level. I solely managed the centers in year 2004.

Thanks to the experience that I gained at my earlier career, I brought in extra programmes into my existing syllabus and to have more hands on activities to add on to the academic time table.

In 2009, I started my primary daycare with the help of my teachers who has been so delegated to expand our centers nearby. A lot excursion activity in my primary daycare programme that has managed to attract more children. And I managed to start School Holidays Camp as extra income for my teachers.

After achieving the target, I started to become fully aware that to have a good reputation and continuous expansion, I need a higher level of qualification in education in order to generate more confidence to my existing parents. So, I decided to continue pursuing my Phd. again. The determination is clearly and more firmly this round. I obtained it on 10th June 2018.

In 2017 and 2018, I setup another 2 center at Shah Alam, near HELP university, Subang Bestari. I was thinking that our students would be able to continue at our tadika when they reached the age of 4 as the first center was targeted at Infant and toddler care where the other center concept is more on live and hands on learning and teaching methodology.

More on real time environment practice. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to sustain it during pandemic period as we were just starting recruiting in the beginning of year 2019. After a long struggle, I choose to focus at my centres at Petaling Jaya, So when the final reopening of MCO, I passed to my business partner to carry on the centers.

I choose to pursue a career in education because of my passion toward nurturing young generation. I truly enjoyed the challenge it gave to me. My staffs and my students. In addition, I love Arts, Crafts and performances.

And can fulfilled all these interests in education line. I love to take the most misbehaved child to handle always to test myself on how much I can go. I like to take the chance to nurture the most difficult child in a class.

I find it very rewarded and mission accomplished when the children have managed to catch up with what I taught. I would feel very proud if my children start to be very mature, independent and learn all the life skill under my watch. I also like to mould my staffs to be multi tasking and confident. I enjoyed the process of training my staffs up to that level. That really made me a great reward because I might change their life for a better future.

My view of education is learning is no ending and no limits. The higher you climb up the levels, you will realised there is a lot unknown is that you might not even know it exists. Some people might have the very little knowledge of it but some might just a new chapter for them. It is depends on individual's background, people that we mix with and the education levels that we obtained.

There is still a lot more things for us to do and explore before we die. As an moderate educator, I am trying my best to apply the theory to the real life. All the information in the book or documents needs to prove works in our normal life and not just a sentence in alphabet format. That is what I tried to educate my staffs who graduated with Diploma or Degree to really understood the theory and apply it into their real life. I normally do not encourage my staffs to memorize theory but be practical with their lesson plan or their daily action plan.

I share with them that we cannot fake forever but we can be real forever. Good performance needs a lot of trial and error. If the first drafted plan did not work out then the plan B needs to be appeared in their plans. Learn to be flexible and adaptive to any kind of situation. I always advice my staffs do not stuck in one issue over and over again. Learn to move on to the other issue and back to resolve the issue if it is important. Else move on to priority.

My parent is the one who influenced me the most in my career. Since early age, I am had been trained up to face the reality. I learned there is no "hardest" time that we could not over come if we are well equiped with all the strong and positive attributes. I was told that I was a natural born leader at the age of 4. Is the seed that my parent had implanted into my mind and that also leads me to believe and have faith that I am the choosen one for them since small. Is the situation at the moment mould me to be able to handle and cope with multiple tasking roles and I learned to be flexible in any situation that arised to me at anytime.

I noticed that I can manage and quickly come out a solution to tackle my difficulties those day compare to most of my classmates or relatives or people surround me. I guess the early age trained up was really a great advantage to my life now. Some people will judge it is too stress if we start this kind of training at early stage. But for me, it was good education because my character reserves this kind of training method.

The greatest challenge in my life was the lost of my focus during my late 30. That is when I was so worry that I will become OKU. Other than the problem derived from myself there is no other greatest challenge in my career in education line. I overcome this challenge by getting myself more and more involved in studying variety of inputs from different sources.

When I realised the more I read the less I know, I started to challenge the new chapter again in my life. I do not want to give up easily and wanted to find out more and more on how to rewrite my chapter. I attended a few self improvement courses and metaphysic, Yi Jing and numerology classes. I ventured into NLP and therapy courses in order to look for more knowledge of healing.

That path was really fun for me to explore. I am grateful that I had learned education that beyond Academic era. I am grateful that I can use some of the techniques that I gained at the special needs children. And the results were so convincing that I slowly gained more positive reputation from my clients and the supporter surrounded me. All these led me back to my track again till now.

I think the critical success factor in this industry is our acceptance of the importance of education in our life. The self awareness of the infinity up grading ourself is critical. The importance of filling up a person's wisdom is critical to support this point. When a person crave for more knowledge, more and more opportunity will be created in order to reach that target goal.

We need to have the passion to sustain our progress in education line. All these are attributes that needed in order to success in Education field. I have been attending a few courses lately in order to learn more skills and gain more experience. I kept myself updated in the trend. A lot of things has gradually changed after the covid pandemic. The courses that I enrolled are Franchise, Sales and Marketing, Business Model, Working Capital and Share Analysis, Metaphysic, Ai Design and Self improvement course. I want to keep myself updated with variety inputs so that I can be continously success in this 10 years time.

The only time that I had a thought of giving up is when I was told that I had a cancer and I need a Hip replacement in year 2006. I was not focus for a while as I could not accept the fact that the length of my right leg will be imbalance after the Hip replacement operation. I searched high and low for the alternative to keep it as safe as possible. My emotion was badly affected and very negative at once when doctor's giving up on the alternative and pursuaded me to go for the operation to give it a trial. After a year plus of struggling, I started to awakening that I have to do something to save myself.

But then I was not giving up. I started to do online research and look for famous bone specialists to find out how to delay the deterioration of my bone at my right hip. I also seek the help from nutrition to be more complete treatment. I tried out all sort of supplements and physio and even the traditional treatments and medication. I do a lot study in various fields myself. I gathered all the information by doing research and read books. During this emotional period, my centers were still operated as usual. I was fully supported by the income from my centers.

I am grateful that I still having the stable income from education to cater all my medical needs. If I am still with the corporate world, I surely ended up with debts. So I told myself if I can get better one day, I want to contribute to the education field. Let more people know what is education and its power of changing life. I will start with getting my clients (parents) to respect early childhood teachers.

Clients needs to be input or educate of the importance in early years development of their child. So their child first teacher is needed to be recognised and work together to plant the seed correctly at the initial stages.I choose to persist because of my own experience and I know I have to share as much as possible. How education works for me?

What drives me forward is my teachers who have worked for me for more than 5 to 10 years. They have been continously sparing their time and youth with me. My staffs are also my students and family.

It is time for me to help them up to own their own center before I fully retired. I wanted to pass on all my hard learned skills to them. I do not want to waste my knowledge and skills. Let it be in heritage and not just end here. And I also wanted to help up and motivate the dedicated younger generation to come to this early childhood line with the correct and more supportive ways.

My biggest mission now is to get as many teachers or educators who has the same mindset as me as possible and who wanted to pass on our skills to the next generation. I need a team to make the drive more happenings. Meanwhile, I also wanted to motivate the teachers or educators not to give up because of the unexpected pandemic. There is no hardest time in life.

I am now gathering a group of passion educators who has a lot of experience in this early childhood education and skills to work together to pass on our knowledge and skills to the younger generation who might wanted to venture themselves into this line.

Some of them might already equiped with all the skills and experience but they are short of platforms to prove it. We are here to support these group of future to be operators to setup their own center by either Licensing or Franchising or any kind of Joint Venture system. We want to duplicate our skills and knowledge to at least educate or trained up 5 operators in this coming 1-3 years time. We are also looking at international level in the next 5 years time by gathering more knowledge with Matrade so that we can join the exhibition and setup booth to create awareness internationally.

I am also on a project of developing a mobile application with an IT software company.  I am transforming the standard operating system (SOP) of a centre daily operation into digitalise format to minimize the problem of “insufficient of manpower in centre” and to simplify the “admin’s job” for the operators. 

This diversification will also led to my team  to gradually moving into IT acknowledgement and more job opportunity will be arising with the result of it.  We are also moving towards collaboration with an AI technology developed company for parents and children’s therapy courses.  All this are in our expansion plan and is 30% excecuting at the moment as I am targeting of the 10 years plan from 2022.

Besides, I am holding secretary position in one of the non-profit religious institution since 2012.  There I have to always hold some activities to create gathering moments for our members. 

One of the reasons is to accumulate funds for the institution to sustain the monthly operation cost and carry on our mission and vision for the future.  Function like fund raising is definitely needed for the maintenance of the institutions.  I am also in charge of the collaboration of the other institutions or organization.  I have really made myself fully occupied with “activities” daily. 

Yes, I have just received an educational award Top 100 most influential educator in Malaysia lately.  I managed to get myself into within top 50 in the ranking.  And all my centres were awarded with the “Consumer Choice Award” in year 2022 and “World Consumer Protection Certificate” in the year 2023 by World Consumer Protection Commerce Chamber. 

Without the multiple trials and errors in my life, I will not be able to get this honourable award. Without the content of the story in my chapter, I will not be able to achieve this honor. I am so glad that The principle of my life is recognized.
